Environmental Studies B.A.

Environmental Studies B.A. for students who entered Skidmore prior to Fall, 2017:
Students in the Environmental Studies major must successfully complete 42 to 48 credits in approved courses.

  1. Foundation courses:   and  ;
  2. Three courses from the Social and Cultural Core classes: EC 104  ,  ,  ,   ,  ;
  3. a).  Two courses, at least three credits each, from ESS Cluster A: Culture, Society and the Environment; and
    b).  An additional 3 credits in ESS Cluster A; at least 6 credits of Cluster A must be at the 300 level. Up to 3 credits in total of    , and   may count toward the major.
  4. Two courses from ESS Cluster B1: Exploring the Natural World (at least one course with a lab);
  5. One methods course:  ,     ,   or   and,
  6. ESS Senior Year Capstone Sequence of   and  .


Environmental Studies B.A. for students who entered Skidmore in Fall, 2017 and beyond:
Students in the Environmental Studies major must successfully complete 46 to 48 credits in approved courses.

  1. Foundation courses:   and  ;
  2. Three courses from the Social and Cultural Core classes: EC 104  ,  ,  ,   ,  ;
  3. a).  Two courses, at least three credits each, from ESS Cluster A: Culture, Society and the Environment; and
    b).  An additional 3 credits in ESS Cluster A; at least 6 credits of Cluster A must be at the 300 level. Up to 3 credits in total of    , and   may count toward the major.
